On the LIRN Library the On-screen Keyboard Icon button is located next to the Search box. Click the Keyboard icon to access the On-Screen Keyboard. Use the Mouse to type in Search Terms instead of the physical Keyboard. For the best experience using the On-Screen Keyboard on compatible Mobile Devices (i.e. Tablets, etc.) enable or turn on the Touch Screen Options. To verify if your device has Touch-Screen Capability locate your Device Settings and locate Accessibility. The Accessibility Menu will display what options are available including Downloaded Apps with the features, Screen Reader Functions, Display, Interaction Controls, Audio, Text-to-speech Outputs, etc. If Touch-Screen options are available it will be displayed on this Menu. Every device is different with varying Accessibility Options refer to your device Manual or Handbook for further information.
LIRN Library Audio Speech-to-Text Option Icon (microphone) is located at the end of the basic Search Box to the right of the On-Screen Keyboard Button. By clicking the Microphone icon provides the option to search the LIRN Library Portal Search boxes using audio verbal commands. To use this option on a PC Desktop computers requires a a sound card, microphone and speakers with the sound tuned on. Using the microphone is best used on Mobile devices (i.e. phone, lap top computer or tablet) with the microphone on the keyboard turned on and the Speech-to-Text enabled on the Accessibility Menu under Settings along with other related options. Accessibility Options can vary from device to device so checking the Settings displays what options a device can do.
LIRN Library Language Translation Option located at the upper-right hand corner of the page if selected converts the LIRN Library Portal into one of thirteen Languages. The Search boxes, Display Options and Manage Your Results Settings will convert to the selected language.
Font Size can be enlarged or reduced based on the Reader's preference. The Font Size Icon is a large and small size letter "A" with a minus sign on the left and plus sign on the right. This option is located on the right side of the screen after conducting a search using the Search Boxes.
