Gale's Topic Finder helps you visualize connections between search terms and topics and view relevant articles for those topics. This tool takes the titles, subjects, and approximately the first 100 words from a subset of your top results and feeds them into an algorithm. Keywords shown in the graphics are those found most often in the text with your search term. For Tiles Visualization, the bigger the tile and the darker the color represents, the more significant words and subjects for your Search Terms. For Wheel Visualization, the inner larger wedges represent the more significant subjects or Search Terms. The outer and expandable spokes represent specific topics or documents containing that subject or term.
Let’s take a look at one of the results in our search. Browse by Topic are general popular topics that are frequently searched for by Gale Users. To locate additional Topics use Topic Finder. To discover the largest Subjects available in the database use Subject Guide Search. To find specific Publications use Publication Search. On the Gale General OneFile Homepage, under Browse by Topic, select Self-Help/Self-Improvement. Next, click Stress Management.
Click on the article TITLE to see more detailed information. Again, you can see the TITLE, AUTHOR, and SOURCE. By clicking the SOURCE Mindful searches across the Publication Index. Searching across the Publication Index locates additional research on Stress Management and how it has changed over time. You can see this is the full-text article containing 1101 words. BRIEF ARTICLES are under 650 words. By HIGHLIGHTING words activates the note tool and the dictionary. You can explore similar articles, and related subjects or use the Gale Tools to save your research sources.
