Lost & Damaged Items

Lost Books and Damaged Materials Policy and Procedures

Materials borrowed from the ELAC libraries must be returned in the same condition as borrowed.  Students are financially responsible for lost or damaged materials (water damage, pages missing, automobile break-in, etc.).

It's the student's responsibility to alert library staff of any visible damage prior to checking out materials from the library.  Request staff to place a note indicating damage.

Library materials are considered lost after being 21 days overdue and user will be charged the item's replacement cost.

hold is placed on the student's record until item is returned and/or the replacement cost is paid.  Student has the option to bring a replacement copy of the exact item in lieu of the replacement cost.  The replacement copy must be new or in excellent condition.  Check with the librarian on duty.
