Native American Podcasts and Shows

The Native American Wars Podcast exploring the history of European and Native American contacts - 1003 to 1890. A new podcast and other web-based materials, based upon the product of your humble author's research of actual historians, archeologists, anthropologists, geneticists, and others.  Some of this stuff comes from legends, oral histories of Native and European civilizations, scientific analysis of genetic populations, anthropological and archeological references, written history and of course our own speculation as to human nature, common sense and our experience.  All of this in context, we hope.

YAI Podcast stands for Young and Indigenous and that’s who we are: tribal youth of the Lummi Nation, original peoples of the land and water now called Bellingham, Washington. In order to try and help our Lummi community stay unified, we have created an outlet for people to express their opinions, voice their ideas and concerns, and share some of the, until now, untold stories of our people. YAI podcast is an attempt to preserve our culture, learn our language, and inspire future generations of youth to believe in and develop their authentic voices. Young and Indigenous is also for those people outside of our community who would like to learn more about us as Native people. Telling our own story helps us reclaim our narrative and protect our way of life. We are using this platform to bring awareness to the issues happening in our Lummi homeland and in Indian Country today.

Hello! Welcome to Native Film Talk! The purpose of this podcast is to explore Native representation in film from the perspective of a Native America. I plan to watch movies, tv shows, and documentaries from the old westerns, and movies filmed from the Native perspective. Overall, the image of the Native American in film has changed in a lot of ways, in others it has not. There have been attempts to mature from the stoic indian, noble savage, and white savior but we also see modern instanaces where those stereotypes continue to be perpetuated.

Think Indigenous Methodology. A lot of times we go through life with this notion of a routine, we never stop and think that our indigenous theories, songs, prayers, language are our way of reclaiming place in this world. All norms, values, ethics and cultural knowledge I’ve come to know since being a barefoot Diné girl moving to find my place in a world so different from a traditional dirt floor hogan and Navajo speaking home.

Immigrants made America what it is today and immigrants continue to add to the strength and diverse fabric of our country. It begs the question… Who are these immigrants? We decided to reach out and meet them. Welcome to our series “My Life Lessons Project Featuring Stories From Immigrants”. We humbly thank each one for courageously sharing their story with us. We invite you to listen to and share their stories with others.
