Tuesday, September 17th is Constitution Day (Citizenship Day).  The annual observance in the United States commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. This day is dedicated to celebrating and reflecting on the significance of the Constitution as the foundation of the American government and the rights and freedoms it guarantees. Constitution Day also serves as an opportunity to educate citizens about the Constitution’s role in shaping the nation and to promote civic engagement and awareness.  Participation includes learning about the Constitution, attending local events, sharing the knowledge, participating in a Naturalization Ceremony, and reflecting on your rights.  Resources can be found on the Constitution and Citizenship Day LibGuidePrimary Sources (United States History) LibGuide, Constitution-related Book Lists on the Library Catalog, and the United States Constitution Day Videos on Infobase Films on Demand.
