8 NIGHTS of joy: Hanukkah begins this month, so we asked blogger Ariel Stein to share how she celebrates the Festival of Lights.Despite the fact that Hanukkah is considered a "more minor" holiday in the Jewish faith, Ariel Stein, founder of lifestyle blog Ariel Loves, has always celebrated it in a major way. "Growing up, my family hosted a big Hanukkah party every year. We'd light hanukkiahs [Hanukkah menorahs], eat latkes, and do a sing-along," she says. Now that Ariel is a mom of two, she continues to go all out for the holiday: "It's important to me to share our Jewish heritage with the kids and help them feel proud to be Jewish." Last year the former educator-Ariel taught at a Jewish day school-created Jewish Family Magic, an online community where she offers resources for bringing Judaism to life at home, especially during the holidays. "My goal is to inspire families to make Judaism fun and accessible," she says. "Plus, I love any reason to celebrate."
