Entire Website

General Format:

AuthorLastName, AuthorFirstName. Title of the Website. Date, URL (without the http://).

OR

Title of the Website. Date, URL (without the http://).

For Example:

Shapiro Library. 8 Nov. 2017, libguides.snhu.edu/home.

OR

Voting America: United Sates Politics, 1840-2008. Directed by Robert K. Nelson and Scott Nesbit, dsl.richmond.edu/voting/aboutproject.html.

Webpage of Website

General Format:

AuthorLastName, AuthorFirstName. “Title of the Article or Individual Page.” Title of the Website, Date, URL (without the http://).

OR

“Title of the Article or Individual Page.” Title of the Website, Date, URL (without the http://).

For Example:

Manila, Ashley. "Buffalo Cauliflower Bites Recipe." eHow, www.ehow.com/how_12343436_buffalo-cauliflower-bites-recipe.html. Accessed 9 Nov. 2017.

Blog

General Format:

Author’s Last Name, Author’s First Name. “Title of Post.” Blog Name, Publisher (only include this information if it is different than the name of the blog site), Date blog post was published, URL (without the http://).

For Example:

Kaufman, Scott B. "Narcissism and Self-Esteem are Very Different." Beautiful Minds, Scientific American Blogs, 29 Oct. 2017, blogs.scientificamerican.com/beautiful-minds/narcissism-and-self-esteem-are-very-different/.

 

Tweet

General Format:

@handle. "Full text of tweet without changes." Twitter, Date, time, URL (without the http://).

For Example:

@SNHULibrary. "Library providing limited access to first floor ALL NIGHT tonight and tomorrow to help get you through midterm madness! @SNHUOnCampus." Twitter, 25 Oct. 2017, 6:53 p.m., twitter.com/SNHULibrary/status/923306608716894208.

² You can include optional elements like the directors in the example above.  See page 48 of the handbook for more information.

³ You can add the optional accessed date element to a citation.  This is especially useful if a site is updated frequently or it doesn't have a date of publication.
